Cosplay

Cosplay is a performance art in which participants, known as cosplayers, wear costumes and accessories to represent a specific character from a film, television show, comic book, video game, or other forms of media. The term is a portmanteau of “costume” and “play.” Cosplayers often attend conventions or participate in online communities to showcase their creations, engage in role-playing, and connect with others who share similar interests. The practice involves not only the crafting of costumes but also embodying the character’s traits and mannerisms, making it both a creative and interactive activity. Cosplay can range from simple dress-up to highly detailed and professional-level costume construction, often involving significant time and effort to achieve accuracy and authenticity.
