MMA athletes are trained in various martial arts, such as boxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, wrestling, karate, and Muay Thai, allowing them to adapt their fighting style to their opponent’s strengths and weaknesses. The sport is governed by a set of rules and regulations that aim to ensure the safety of the competitors while allowing for an extensive range of combat techniques. Since its inception in the early 1990s, MMA has gained immense popularity worldwide, leading to the establishment of various organizations, with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) being the most prominent.
